What Got Shipped Today - 19/10/26 - CostX estimates straight into your BoQ, SWMS approvals that start themselves, and notices you can reopen

Published: 19 October 2026 Features Load CostX estimates straight into your BoQ "As an estimator who prices in CostX, I want to bring my detailed estimate into Deep Space without rebuilding it line by line." Before: CostX estimates had to be re-keyed into the Deep Space template or pushed through a KAI import. After: Import BOQ has a new CostX tab. Drop in the CostX "Detailed Estimate" Excel export and the lines land as BoQ items, with nested sections kept under the right parent. Impact: Your estimate arrives in the platform the way you built it, ready for tendering and budget. SWMS approvals that start themselves "As a site manager, I want a SWMS submitted on site to go straight into approval, and the subcontractor to know exactly why if it's rejected." Before: A SWMS submitted in DS Site sat waiting until someone started the approval by hand, and a rejected subcontractor had no reason to work from. After: Submitting a SWMS in DS Site now starts the approval automatically through your delegation of authority workflow. If it is rejected, the subcontractor sees the rejection and the reviewer's comment in their portal. Impact: No SWMS stalls in the register, and subcontractors fix the right thing first time. Notices you can reopen and re-address "As a contract administrator, I want to correct who a notice is waiting on, and reopen it when the conversation isn't really finished." Before: Once issued, a notice's recipients were fixed, and a responded or closed notice stayed closed. After: Move an FYI recipient to To, forward with new To recipients, or remove a recipient after issue. Reopen a Responded, Acknowledged or Closed notice with a note and choose who it is waiting on again. The composer also warns you before issuing a notice with no To recipient, since it could never be closed. Impact: Your notice register reflects what is really happening on the project, not what was true on day one. Push head contract invoices to Xero as Draft "As a finance lead, I want to review client invoices in Xero before they are approved." Before: Head contract invoices always arrived in Xero as Approved. After: A new company setting sends them to Xero as Draft instead. Impact: Finance keeps the final check in Xero, on your terms. Keep portfolio figures private on the Home Dashboard "As a director, I want to show the dashboard in a meeting without putting contract values and margin on screen." Before: Portfolio cards always showed Head Contract Value and Forecast Margin. After: A company setting hides both on the portfolio cards. Impact: Share the big picture without sharing the numbers. Improvements Notice PDFs now carry their attachments Attachments are appended as pages in the notice PDF itself, with hyperlinks as a fallback, so the record you send is complete on its own. Issue a notice to subcontractor to several people or a whole company From a client instruction, issue the notice to multiple recipients or an entire company in one go, with your name shown as the sender. Head contract claim leakage panel you can work from Sort, filter by reason, see submitted and approved dates and age, and act on each row directly. Attach documents to head contract claims, payment schedules and invoices The same Attach Document action you know from subcontracts now works on the client side. Preview claim attachments in place On a purchase order's Invoices tab, the claim modal previews attachments instead of forcing a download, and shows the right Draft status. Variation pills that say which variation The subcontract quick view now names the variation behind each pill. Invoice Register status follows payment schedule approval Invoices now move through an Authorised state as the payment schedule is approved, instead of jumping straight to In Xero. Timesheets show every Daily Time Record A second Daily Time Record for the same worker and day is now visible and costed, including on locked weeks. Tender set picker includes subfolders Ticking a folder now selects everything inside it, and subfolders expand. Fixes NZ payment schedules calculate GST at 15% The "inc GST" figure now uses the correct New Zealand rate. Margin to Earn on the Financial Summary is correct It now subtracts realised margin rather than billing. Generate Invoice preview matches the invoice it creates Retention and the recommended invoice amount now agree between preview and result, using certified amounts. No more false "Exceeds SOV remaining" warnings Invoice lines already decided on their payment schedule no longer block saving. Approve no longer spins after an approval step completes Fixed on head contract variations in the Approval Route modal. Tender Name is editable again You can change the name when editing a tender. Downloads keep their file extension Documents download with their real extension, and renaming can no longer drop it. Got feedback on any of these?
