Ask Deep Space. Get the answer, the page and the gap.

KAI, and any assistant connected through the Deep Space MCP, can now read your DS Site safety registers and the full Deep Space help guide library. Ask in plain English. Get counts, names, flags and page references back. The Problem A safety manager on a busy site has five registers to check every Monday: inductions, SWMS, permits to work, inspections and incidents. Each one lives in its own DS Site form. Checking them means opening each form, filtering by project, scanning dates and writing it up for the safety meeting. The gap that matters, the inspection that didn't happen, is the one that's easiest to miss, because nothing shows up. The same pattern played out across the Deep Space web app. The answer to "how do I..." usually existed in a guide, but finding it meant knowing which guide and which page, so most questions became a support ticket. And when a site manager said they couldn't see a form, the reason (they weren't in the DS Site channel) was invisible from the User Directory. What's New Site MCP: safety workflows (beta) As a safety manager, I used to open each DS Site register one by one to build the weekly safety summary, so I can now ask for it in one question and get the gaps flagged. KAI inside the Deep Space web app, or Claude, ChatGPT or Codex connected through the Deep Space MCP, can now read your DS Site safety records: site inductions, SWMS, permits to work, site inspections, incident reports and sign-ons. It reads as you, with your own DS Site channel role, and only from the channel linked to your workspace. The help guide library, readable by KAI and your assistant As a project manager, I used to raise a ticket or hunt through PDFs to find how a feature works, so I can now ask KAI and get the steps with the guide and page cited. Deep Space now publishes more than 50 help and workflow guides covering the full Builder's Wheel: preconstruction and tendering, contract templates, variations, claims and invoices, WIP and forecasting, Xero, document control, HSEQ, plant and assets, timesheets and the MCP itself. KAI and any MCP-connected assistant can search them, read the exact pages and cite them. Contract template packages: import, export and versioned updates As a commercial manager, I used to rebuild our subcontract template field by field in each workspace, so I can now import a proven template package and only change what's different. A contract type now exports as a .dsct package: the template definition, its Word master and a list of what it relies on (project roles, sources, head contract fields). Import creates a new draft and never touches anything you already have. To update a contract type, import the package as a new version. Subcontracts already using it stay on their version, and a draft subcontract can be moved across from its Contract details tab. The updated Contract Templates guide includes ready-made templates to import. Workspace and DS Site access in the User Directory As a workspace admin, I used to guess why a site manager couldn't see a form, so I can now see their DS Site role, or that they're not a member, right in the User Directory. Two new columns. Workspace Permissions shows each workspace permission the person holds as a pill. DS Site shows their channel role, a pending invite, a deactivated user, or Not a member. Click a pill to change it. When an HSEQ or DS Site form seems to be missing, this column is the first place to look. How It Works In the Deep Space web app: open KAI from the top bar and ask. KAI reads the workspace you're in. In Claude, ChatGPT or Codex: connect the Deep Space MCP (see the DS MCP Connection Guide), then ask in plain English. Say what you mean: name the form, the person and the dates. "Since 1 October" or "between 1 and 5 October" works. Name the project, or ask from its page. Try these on DS Site records "Has anyone from [company] submitted a site induction on this project?" "Which SWMS have been submitted in the last 14 days? Show me the latest in full." "When was the last site inspection on this project, and who did it?" "Who signed in on this project today?" "Give me this week's safety summary for this project and flag anything that looks missing." Try these on the help guides "How do I move a draft subcontract to a newer contract template version?" "One of my site managers can't see any DS Site forms. What's the likely cause?" "How does Deep Space calculate WIP? Cite the page." "Walk me through claiming from cost on a head contract claim." What it won't do: submit, edit, approve or close a form (the connection is read-only), return files or download links (open attachments in DS Site), read another workspace's channel, or fill gaps with other projects' records. Why It Matters The weekly safety check goes from five registers and a write-up to one question, and the answer leads with what's missing. That's the inspection that didn't happen, the permit nobody raised, the incident still sitting at Reported. On a live site those are the items an investigator asks about first. "How do I..." stops being a ticket. The answer comes from the platform with a page reference, so new team members get productive without waiting on someone else. Commercial teams start from a contract template that already works. And when someone can't see a form, the reason is on the screen. Known limitations: The Site MCP is in beta and read-only. Contract template packages contain your contract wording, so share them only within your organisation.
