Connect Your AI Assistant to Deep Space (Alpha)
You can now connect Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, or Codex to your Deep Space workspace and ask questions about your project data in plain language. The connection uses the open Model Context Protocol (MCP) at https://mcp.deepspacesync.com/mcp and is available today as an alpha, by invitation. Before Answering a simple question, like the status of an Extension of Time claim or what's outstanding on a purchase order, meant logging into Deep Space, finding the right project, and reading through the register yourself. After Once connected, your assistant can read, for the workspace you approve: Projects - the projects you can already see in Horizon Extensions of Time - claims, status, dates, days claimed and assessed, cause and responsible party, with filters Purchase Orders - the PO register with status, amounts, invoiced-to-date and dates, plus single-order lookups Try: "Which extensions of time on the Riverside project are still submitted?" or "Total the approved purchase orders on project 25040 by supplier." More modules will follow. This release is deliberately read-only. Why it matters The answer comes from the actual record, not a guess, and it comes from wherever you already work, without a detour through the platform to find it. Built security-first Your login, not a shared key. You sign in with your normal Deep Space account. Your password is only ever entered on the Deep Space sign-in page, never in the AI application. Uses OAuth 2.1 with PKCE, the same approach Claude and ChatGPT use for their own connectors. One workspace per connection, chosen by you. You pick the workspace on a consent screen that states exactly what the connection can and cannot do. Other workspaces are never reachable. Your Deep Space role still applies. The assistant only sees projects you can open and only the modules your role allows. Read-only, and declared as such. Every tool tells the AI application it cannot create, change, approve, or delete anything. Short-lived, revocable access. Access tokens expire after an hour and refresh automatically. Removing access takes effect within that hour. Disconnecting in the AI application ends the session immediately. Encrypted at rest. Connection state is encrypted and expires automatically. Deep Space never shares your credentials with any AI vendor. Supported assistants Claude (web, Desktop, mobile, Team and Enterprise), Claude Code, ChatGPT (developer mode, web and desktop), and Codex. Step-by-step guides for each are in the Deep Space MCP setup documentation. Getting access The alpha is enabled per account. Ask your Deep Space contact to switch on MCP access for the people who should have it, then follow the guide for your assistant. Feedback is welcome and will shape which modules come next. Notes Alpha, by invitation, enabled per account Read-only: no create, update, approve, or delete actions Only Projects, Extensions of Time, and the PO register are exposed so far. Estimation, CDE, and Subcontracts are not yet included - more to come here. One workspace per connection
