Clearer sorting for Budgets and Cost Codes

We’ve improved how sorting works in budgets and cost codes so financial lists are easier to read, easier to navigate, and behave the way you expect. Budget Categories now sort without breaking structure You can now sort Budget Categories by category ID or category name. Sorting moves through ascending, descending, and no sorting, so you always stay in control. Importantly, sorting does not break your budget structure. Parent and child categories stay together, and sub-categories follow their parent automatically. Clear arrows in the table header show exactly how the list is currently sorted. What this means for users: Large budgets are easier to scan and review No more broken or confusing category hierarchies You can instantly see how the list is ordered Cost Codes stay grouped and predictable when sorting Sorting has also been improved on the Cost Codes page. You can now toggle between ascending, descending, and no sorting in a consistent way. Sorting is applied only to the top-level budget categories, not individual cost codes. This keeps cost codes grouped correctly while still allowing you to organise categories in a logical order. Sorting also respects any search or filters you have applied, so results stay consistent. What this means for users: Cleaner and more stable cost code lists No surprise reshuffling of cost codes Easier review of filtered or searched results In short Sorting now works the way finance and project teams expect. Budgets stay structured, cost codes stay grouped, and financial data is easier to read and trust at a glance.
